Reducing pet overpopulation with WA Pet Project

Reducing pet overpopulation with WA Pet Project.

Australia is facing a pet overpopulation crisis, with too many families struggling to access affordable veterinary care. This leads to unplanned litters, more pets entering shelters, and heartbreaking outcomes for animals and their owners.

WA Pet Project knew that they couldn't rescue their way out of the current pet overpopulation issue which is why their program "Spay it Forward" has been critical to their overall mission. Spay It Forward is a program that assists struggling pet owners through subsidised desexing, microchipping, and vaccinations at veterinary clinic locations throughout Western Australia. In a lot of cases, WA Pet Project can assist in remote country locations too.

We donated $20,000 towards the Spay it Forward program as part of our commitment to preventative programs to stop the flow of animals entering rescue.

By preventing unwanted litters and supporting pet owners, this program is improving animal welfare and building stronger, healthier communities.

After another successful campaign the team have been able to desex 95 dogs in the community!

Together, we’re helping to give pets a brighter future and easing the pressure on shelters, rescues and families doing it tough.

Every SavourLife purchase helps make donations like this possible. Thank you for supporting us, so we can support them.
