Husky Rescue WA Inc (est. 1999) is a not for profit incorporated association with the purpose of relieving the suffering of animals by rescuing and rehoming Siberian Huskies, Alaskan Malamutes and other arctic breed dogs in Western Australia, thus preventing their unnecessary euthanasia. This is achieved by: • Working with shire pounds, animal care centres, shelters and other rescue groups to identify animals in need. • Providing temporary foster care for dogs whose owners are no longer able to care for them. • Finding “forever” homes for dogs in foster care, so that they can live out the rest of their lives as part of a family. • Ensuring every dog is health checked, vaccinated, microchipped and de-sexed prior to adoption. • Assisting other canine rescue groups with their aims and objectives. • Promoting responsible dog ownership by educating the general public about specific breed traits of Siberian Huskies, Alaskan Malamutes and other arctic breed dogs. • Discouraging the practice of "backyard breeding".
Adoption Policy: Strict
Please complete the questionnaire on the link below to assist us in matching you to the right dog: http://www.emailmeform.com/builder/form/AD9d7ebfeZ9Mq All our dogs are vaccinated, microchipped, and sterilised as part of the rehoming process. The owner would be required to action change of ownership and register their dog with their Council. We also ensure a prospective new owner’s lifestyle and home environment is compatible with an individual dog. Every effort is therefore made to match the dogs and potential owners for suitability. We charge an adoption fee for the dog we place with a new family - no exception. This cost goes towards covering some of the veterinary and other expenses incurred in rescuing. Although our costs can exceed this amount, we believe every one of Husky Rescue's dogs are worth the care and expense provided in their rescue. Our aim is solely to match the right dog with the right individual or family.
