Forever Safe's mission is to rescue and rehome animals that are abandoned, abused, neglected or surrendered. Our aim is to provide them with the necessary vet work as well as training so that they can move on to become a loved member of a new family. Forever Safe promotes responsible pet ownership. This entails proving adequately for the animals physical, mental and emotional wellbeing. It also includes desexing your pet. We cannot stress enough how important this is. As a rescue, we are, at the moment, fighting a loosing battle. The only way we can combat the issue of so many unwanted and homeless animals is by treating the problem at it's source. That is, by desexing your pet. Also please remember socialisation of your pet is important, as is taking responsibility for your animal. This includes ensuring they have adequate fencing to keep them contained, that they are leashed when they are in public and that they are only allowed off leash in the designated areas and only if you are able to fully control your animal. As a rescue, we are working together in assisting those animals that need is now, assisting the owners who need us, educating people to try and curb the problem to lessen the burden on our already strained resources and educating people on responsible pet ownership. Together we can make a difference!
Adoption Policy: Strict
Our adoption policy starts with completing an expression of interest form. If the information on the expression of interest form lines up and we feel the person may be a good match for the animal they are enquiring about, then we phone them and chat with them about the animal. If this goes well, then we offer a meet and greet to the person, if the meet and greet goes well, then we go around and do a premises inspection. If the premises check out and the person is still interested in potentially adopting, then we allow them to take the animal on trial. During the trial period, we keep in contact with the owner and ensure the animal settling in. If the trial goes well, then we finalise the adoption. When we are finalising the adoption, we go back around to the home to check on the animal and finalise the adoption.
