Our Mission To save companion animals from unnecessary euthanasia through community education, fostering, de-sexing and placing them in suitable homes. Our Vision An end to the over-population of pets in Australia Zero euthanasia of rehomable pets A good quality of life for all companion animals About SAFE: SAFE has set up a network of temporary carers who open their homes to abandoned animals whilst permanent homes are sought. SAFE is proactive in helping to bring about positive change in the areas which cause so many unwanted, abandoned and neglected animals, and strongly supports and promotes desexing. Through positive change, the primary goal for SAFE is to make a difference in the quality of life for companion animals and to promote their immense value to humans. We Need Your Help: SAFE relies on the generosity of the community to operate our service. If you would like to become a Foster Carer, Volunteer, help us financially, or donate pet supplies, please contact us or visit our website for more details. SAFE Pets can Fly within Western Australia!: Thanks to our kind sponsors Qantas Freight and Virgin Cargo, some branches can fly our animals within Western Australia at reduced rates. Please enquire about an animal for more details and don't forget to to explore our other SAFE locations to find your next best friend. Adoption Policy: Flexible
At SAFE Inc., we are committed to ensuring that every adoption process is thorough, thoughtful, and ultimately in the best interest of both the animals in our care and their potential adopters. Our adoption process policy reflects our dedication to finding loving and permanent homes for all of our rescued animals while also ensuring their welfare and safety. The first step in our adoption process is completing an adoption application form. This form helps us gather important information about the potential adopter, including their living situation, lifestyle, previous pet experience, and expectations for pet ownership. This initial step allows us to ensure that the adopter's home environment and lifestyle are suitable for the specific needs and requirements of the animal they are interested in adopting. Once the adoption application is submitted, our team conducts a thorough review and may follow up with additional questions or clarifications if needed and arrange a meet and greet so you can meet your potential companion (in person or over video calling). We prioritise matching each animal with the most suitable adopter based on factors such as the animal's temperament, activity level, and any special needs they may have. As part of our commitment to responsible pet ownership, we may also require potential adopters to undergo a home visit. This visit provides an opportunity for our team to assess the living environment and ensure that it is safe, secure, and suitable for the specific needs of the adopted animal. It also allows us to address any questions or concerns the adopter may have and provide guidance on pet care and integration into their home. Once the adoption application, review process, and home visit (if carried out) are successfully completed, the final step is the adoption agreement and fee payment. This agreement outlines the terms and conditions of the adoption, including responsibilities of the adopter and the support services provided by SAFE Inc. It serves as a legal contract to ensure the welfare and well-being of the adopted animal throughout their lifetime. At SAFE Inc., we believe that finding the right match between an animal and their adopter is paramount. Our adoption process policy reflects our dedication to upholding the highest standards of care, compassion, and responsibility in every adoption journey we facilitate.
