SoCares Central Coast Animal Shelters

Since 1 July 2014, the Society of Companion Animal Rescuers (SoCares) has been managing the Charmhaven impound operations on behalf of Central Coast Council. We also operate as an adoption centre for the unfortunate stray dogs and cats that are not claimed by their owners. ​ August 2021 SoCares was awarded another contract to continue to manage the Charmhaven Animal Care Shelter as well as a contract to manage the operations of the Erina Animal Care Shelter from 1/10/2021. We are so proud of this achievement and excited for what the future holds. ​ Every animal in our care is treated as one of our own. Our aim is to REUNITE lost pets with their owners, REHABILITATE animals not claimed and REHOME every adoptable animal to a loving forever home. We are a small team of dedicated animal lovers who achieve substantial results with little financial assistance. SoCares has successfully reunited and rehomed thousands of dogs and cats from all over the Central Coast.

Adoption Policy: Strict

Dogs and cats available for adoption come microchipped, lifetime registration, desexed, vaccinated and with a 14 day health & trial period warranty. SoCares reserves the right to conduct home and yard checks prior to adoption. It is essential that meet and greets are held with human and four legged family members to ensure a suitable fit.
