R251000050 Jack Russell Rescue is a not for profit organisation operated entirely by volunteers which has been working to save the lives of dogs since 1993. Jack Russell Rescue has up to 40 dogs in care at any one time and currently rehomes over 250 dogs a year that may otherwise be needlessly put to sleep. JR Rescue was established by co-founders, Jill Clinch and Sandra Ferris, to save and re-home abandoned Jack Russell Terriers and JRT cross-breeds that find themselves on death row in pounds throughout Australia. Now the majority of Jacks that come to us at Jack Russell Rescue are surrendered from homes where they are no long able to stay or whose owner can no longer care for them. We will of course continue to rescue dogs from any shelter or pound where a Jack needs our help; if we have the capacity – we will always endeavour to accept a Jack Russell Terrier in need. On average, we will have 35-40 dogs in care, and re-home more than 200 dogs per year.
Adoption Policy: Strict
The dogs that we offer for adoption may not all be pure JRTs, but at JR Rescue, we believe they are all worthy of saving. Each dog is de-sexed, vaccinated, heartworm tested, microchipped, wormed, temperament assessed, and vet-checked prior to re-homing. We also provide follow up advice for the new families of our rescue dogs. It is our aim to ensure that each of these dogs finds the best possible forever home. Jack Russell Rescue relies entirely on donations and volunteers to continue its operations and we do NOT receive any government funding. ALL of your donations go directly to the care and welfare of our rescue dogs. Each dog is de-sexed, vaccinated, heartworm tested, microchipped, wormed, vet-checked and temperament-assessed prior to re-homing. Jack Russell Rescue has Charitable Fund tax status, which means all donations over $2 are tax deductible.
