Lucky Paws Dog Rescue is a registered not-for-profit dog rescue based in South East Queensland including Hervey Bay. ​We are a small group of volunteers working together to help save abandoned, neglected and homeless animals throughout the region as well as remote outback communities. All animals in our care are desexed, vaccinated, microchip, flea and worm treated as well as heartworm tested (if applicable).

Adoption Policy: Strict

~ ADOPTION PROCESS ~ STEP 1: An Adoption application MUST be filled out prior to the meet and greet with the animal. ** PLEASE NOTE: WE DO NOT DO INTERSTATE ADOPTIONS ** We require all animals to have a meet & greet with their new family before they are officially adopted, no exceptions. If you are willing and able to meet the dog in person, we are happy to accomodate the adoption. STEP 2: If successful, our foster carer will be in touch within 24-48 hours. STEP 3: A 'Meet & Greet' with the animal and their carer will then take place. You must bring your current dog along to the meet and greet if you are meeting another dog/puppy, this is to ensure they get along before commencing adoption. All meet & greets must take place within 5 DAYS, we do not offer meet and greet extensions. STEP 4: The animal MUST not be taken on the day unless PRIOR ARRANGED (travelling over a 4 hr round trip), we will NOT ACCEPT the animal to be taken on the day if less then 2 days notice is given. If prior arrangement is made, an adoption agreement/s and payment must be made before collection of the animal. STEP 5: A 10 day trial period commences once the animal has been collected from the foster carer. STEP 6: The Adoption is the finalised after 14 days and paperwork is sent via email after this period. Please note this can take up to 4 weeks pending on the microchip paperwork. Sorry we can’t take calls, as our rescue is run entirely by volunteers, but we endeavour to respond to your email within 24 - 48 hours.
