On a day to day basis, we rescue, rehabilitate and rehome arctic breed dogs that find themselves homeless and in need of assistance. Our purpose is to: Rescue, rehabilitate, and appropriately rehome Arctic breed dogs within Australia. Develop strong relationships with shelters and pounds to improve outcomes for Arctic breeds entering these facilities. Provide education, assistance and advice to the general public with regard to specific Arctic breed traits and requirements. Promote responsible companion animal ownership. The team at Arctic Rescue Victoria Inc have been involved in dog rescue for a number of years. ARV is a Community Foster Care Network (CFCN) that rescues, rehabilitates, and appropriately rehomes arctic breed dogs. We also aim to educate the community on Arctic breeds and promote responsible companion animal ownership. We primarily rescue and rehome within Victoria. On occasion we will assist with rescue interstate, however, dogs are generally not rehomed interstate for a number of reasons.
Adoption Policy: Strict
As part of the application process we need to perform yard checks and interview applicants for suitability, and follow up with ongoing training, reviews and medical treatment in some cases. Our dogs go on trial for 2-4 weeks after which a dog may be returned to our care for one reason or another, so it is preferable that our dogs are rehomed locally. The fee for our dogs is $450, or $700 for a pair. This adoption fee is not negotiable. We have the same fees for all our dogs because we value each dog equally. All monies received by us, whether in donations, fundraising or adoption fees, is used for the benefit and care of our dogs. To adopt please complete this form: To become a Foster Hero and save a life please apply here: We also offer fostering with the view to adopt.
