Pawsome Friends Inc. is a small Victorian based animal rescue group and registered not-for-profit charity, endorsed by Australian Charities and Not-for profits Commission. We save dogs and cats from metropolitan, regional and remote pounds and shelters within Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland and South Australia. A small proportion of animals are also surrendered directly to us. When an animal comes into our care we have vet work completed. This will include health checks, vaccinations, microchipping, desexing, parasite control, and treatment for existing conditions including surgery. The animal is then placed in a suitable foster home until ready for adoption. Our ongoing work is possible because of donations and our wonderful foster carers in the community, who take the animals in to their own homes and prepare them for their new lives.
Adoption Policy: Strict
Sometimes our inbox is inundated with a lot of great reading applications for an animal. This can make the short-list process take longer. As each animal is different, we take into consideration the rescue animal’s needs and all potential new humans and new animals as well. Our volunteers work together with the foster carer of the animal to find the best possible forever home. Read the animals biography thoroughly. Some animals may have special needs such as - needing another animal companion; solo animal only; dogs needing a cat free home OR cats needing a dog free home. Email an enquiry for adoption. If you tick all the boxes and think “this is the one for me!” email the humans at: [email protected] One of our volunteers will reply with an Adoption Application Form attached. Please complete this with as much information as possible; this helps our volunteers make a decision. Please be patient. We are run by a group of volunteers. We all have our family, work and animal commitments. Life can sometimes delay a response. We haven’t forgotten you. Unsuccessful applicants will be contacted by email. Short listed applicants will be contacted by telephone. One of our volunteers will arrange a time to meet with the rescue animal and perform a home check. They will also inform the successful applicants on how the adoption progresses.
