There are too many unwanted and abandoned dogs in Western Australia. At Dogs Behind Bars Rescue Inc, we take these dogs and place them into foster care until their forever families are found. We are a Perth-based dog rescue, founded in 2016, and, so far, have placed over 700 dogs into loving homes but we know there is always more needing help so please consider our dogs. We all work full time and have families so please contact us by email as we have busy lives and do rescue work after hours and on weekends. We rescue dogs from city and country pounds, abandoned and abused dogs, dogs left in kennels and try to help with emergency dog care. We focus on providing comprehensive vet care and quality homes that will give the very best in care and love. Our small, passionate team of volunteers give their time to help unwanted dogs live better lives. We want to keep our team small to allow us to be more hands-on with carers and more effectively help dogs go to quality forever homes. All foster carers and adopters have a house visit to make sure the dog is the right fit. Dogs Behind Bars is a non-profit rescue organisation, and all our funding comes from donations & fundraisers. Several of the dogs in our care require urgent vet care, and any donations made to our rescue would be put towards helping these dogs recover so they can find their forever family! All money gained from adoption fees and donations goes towards veterinary work and training costs to help more dogs. Dogs Behind Bars Rescue Bank Information: BSB: 066-017 Account Number: 1009 7170 * Dogs Behind Bars Rescue does not discriminate against dogs by their age or breed. Help us save more dogs with a $2 or more tax-deductible donation. DOGS BEHIND BARS RESCUE INC. is endorsed as a Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) from 31 August 2019 and a tax receipt is available on request.

AGE DISCLAIMER: Unfortunately, most of the animals that come into our rescue looking for homes don't bring birth certificates. Sometimes we know the dogs’ ages, sometimes we don't. So, we make our best guess based on the condition of their teeth and the veterinarian’s best guess. BREED DISCLAIMER: Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so, for most of the dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We do not DNA test our dogs. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label .
