9 Lives Cat Rescue

9 Lives cat rescue is a not-for-profit cat welfare organisation that focuses on the rescue of lost, abandoned, homeless and stray cats and kittens in the Perth Metropolitan area. We believe in advocating for all cats in our care with the focus on the rehabilitation, fostering and rehoming of cats in need. Our mission statement being “until they all have a home” establishing ourselves as one of the very few 100% no-kill shelters in Perth, Western Australia.

Adoption Policy: Strict

Adoption process typically involves a few steps to ensure that the cat finds a suitable and loving forever home. Prospective adopters are required to fill out an Adoption Application form. This helps us to match cats to suitable families. Upon review of applications we will conduct an interview, either via phone or video call to help us to understand the adopter's expectations and ensure that they are ready to take on the responsibility of caring for a cat. Once your adoption application is approved, arrangements can be made for the adopter to meet the cat in person at the foster carers home.This meeting provides an opportunity for the adopter to interact with the cat, see if there is a connection, and assess whether it is a good fit for both parties. If the meeting goes well we place the cat on a 2 week trial and a non refundable deposit is paid. We are always available for support during the settling in process of this trial period. At the end of the two weeks we will contact you to see how everything is and to see if adopters want to go ahead with making the adoption permanent. Adoption fees help cover the costs associated with the cat’s veterinary care, microchipping, sterilization, and vaccinations, among other expenses.
