Mornington Moggie Rescue is a volunteer-run, foster-based cat rescue on the Mornington Peninsula dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming stray, abandoned, and vulnerable cats and kittens. Through a network of foster carers and veterinary partners, we provide medical care, socialisation, and safe homes for animals in need before carefully matching them with permanent families. We also focus on prevention through desexing initiatives, including our Last Litter Program, and community education promoting responsible pet ownership. Our mission is to improve the welfare of cats and reduce the number entering the rescue system by combining rescue, rehabilitation, adoption, and prevention programs. 🐾
Adoption Policy: Strict
Mornington Moggie Rescue is committed to responsible and ethical rehoming. All adoption applications are carefully reviewed to ensure each cat or kitten is matched with a suitable home and lifestyle. All animals are desexed, microchipped, vaccinated, and health-checked prior to adoption (age and health permitting). Adopters must agree to provide a safe, loving, and indoor-focused home, ongoing veterinary care, and meet all legal requirements for pet ownership. Our process includes an adoption application, discussion with our adoption team, and completion of an adoption agreement and fee prior to the animal leaving care. The adoption fee helps cover veterinary and rescue costs and supports the ongoing care of other animals in need. Mornington Moggie Rescue retains the right to decline applications where a suitable match cannot be ensured, as the welfare of the animal is always our priority
