Here's a little bit about us.
CARMAR is an acronym for;
Campaspe and River Murray Animal Rehoming.
We are a community based, volunteer run not for
profit, no kill, animal welfare organisation based in Echuca, Victoria. We rescue, foster and
rehome, reliquinshed and surrendered companion animals.
We do not have a 'shop front'
All our CARMAR cats and canines are fostered in carers homes, so are used to the comings and goings ,noises ,smells and environments of a normal household. They are all desexed, michrochipped,vaccinated,wormed, flea free.
*Cats/kittens are kittylitter trained and kept inside and have access via catflaps to secure outdoor www.catnipcatenclosures.com.au made right here in Australia.
We rely solely on fundraising, dontations, community grants and generous support from our animal loving public to
fulfil our commitment.
All donations of food, bedding and supplies, plus monetary donations which are tax deductible are greatly
appreciated and accepted with much thanks.
●100% of all proceeds go directly to help pay for all oyr Vet & Pet food bills.

Adoption Policy: Strict
CARMARs adoption process.
"Just a friendly reminder, if you are interested in any of our cats and canines that are ready for adoption please follow our process below.
Please also be aware we are all volunteers and have full time jobs else where.
So we may take up to a day to reply.
We are not a Pound so do not have a shop front.
We foster animals in our Private homes.
Our Aplication for Adoption process is as follows;

Current Adoption fees;
Dogs $500
Cats/kittens $150
Working cats $50 or donation to CARMAR
Team CARMAR require a completed Expression of Interest form (EOI)A hard copy can be collected from the friendly staff at Pets Domain Echuca or can be downloaded from our web page at

On a WEEKLY basis team CARMAR go through ALL EOIs (expression of Interest forms-make sure you fill in all information)
We then contact the ones we feel are worthy of follow up..including lengthy & multiple phone conversations and either photos or videos of backyards and inside homes...if prospective adoptors live in the local area we may do home and yard inspections .We then organise meet and greets.
ONLY after all these requirements are met, do we allow an adoption to progress to the 14 day cooling off period..

Victorian adoption process
We are governed by the Victorian Domestic Animal act so all our cats and canines must go through a veterinary health check and assessment and be desexed,michrochipped, vaccinated, wormed and flea treated.
These are carried out by our registered Vet Dr Judith Mulholland from FarrierVet in Lancaster, Victoria.
ONLY After all these procedures are completed and the animals are recovered will any pet be ready for adoption.
Sometimes this is as short as 5 days after veterinary surgery is complete other times its as long as 4+ weeks.(Depending on how busy our Veterinarian is at the time)
