About Hear No Evil – Australian Deaf Dog Rescue
Hear No Evil is a volunteer-run, registered Australian rescue dedicated to giving deaf and special needs dogs a second chance at life.
We focus on dogs that are often overlooked—those who are deaf, blind, or living with additional needs and show just how capable, adaptable, and incredible they truly are when given the right support and understanding.
Our dogs are placed into foster homes where they can settle, learn, and be part of a family environment while we get to know them properly. This allows us to match each dog with a home that truly suits their individual personality, needs, and lifestyle - setting both the dog and their future family up for success.
But what we do goes beyond rehoming.
We are passionate about changing perceptions and increasing awareness around deaf and special needs dogs. A big part of our work is education - helping people understand that these dogs are not limited, they simply experience the world differently.
We also offer guidance and support to anyone living with, or considering, a deaf or special needs dog—whether that dog has come through Hear No Evil or not. From training advice and behaviour support to practical day-to-day tips, we’re here to help people feel confident and supported on their journey.
At Hear No Evil, we are committed to:
Promoting positive, force-free training methods
Supporting our foster carers and adopters every step of the way
Matching dogs thoughtfully to the right homes
Advocating for inclusion, understanding, and better outcomes for special needs dogs
We don’t believe these dogs need fixing.
They just need someone willing to understand them.
Because once you do… you’ll realise they have just as much, if not more to give
