Established in 2017, Albany Animal Welfare Incorporated (AAW) is a registered charity and volunteer-run, not-for-profit animal rescue dedicated to improving the lives of animals in need. Our passionate team of committee members, foster carers and volunteers work together to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome companion animals throughout our community. Our mission is to protect animals through compassionate care, education and community outreach programs. We carefully match every animal with a loving, permanent home where they can thrive, ensuring the best outcome for both the animal and their new family. Every adoption helps us continue providing rescue, veterinary care and a second chance to animals in need.

Adoption Policy: Strict

At Albany Animal Welfare, our goal is to find the right home, not just the next home. Every animal in our care is unique, and we take the time to carefully match them with a family and lifestyle where they can thrive. To help ensure the best fit for both the adopter and the animal, we offer a 14-day trial period on all adoptions. This allows everyone time to settle in and gives peace of mind that the match is the right one. Our animals are cared for in foster homes, where we get to know their personalities, behaviours and individual needs. We provide honest information about each animal so you can make an informed decision before adopting. All adoption applications are reviewed carefully, and we may ask additional questions or arrange a meet and greet to ensure the best possible outcome. Our priority is the lifelong welfare of every animal, and we're always happy to provide advice and support throughout the adoption process.
