Adoption Policy: Strict

Once an enquiry has been submitted, please follow the link provided in the email you receive from SavourLife. Dusty Paws Dog Rescue reserves the right to decline an application if we feel the dog is not suited to the applicant’s home, lifestyle, or family situation. All dogs adopted through Dusty Paws Dog Rescue will be microchipped, vaccinated, DACO registered, and desexed if they are old enough. All adoptions include a 2-week trial period. We ask that you work with us during this time to help make the transition as smooth as possible for both you and the dog. It can take at least two weeks for a dog to begin settling and showing their true personality in a new environment. After a successful 2-week trial, all relevant paperwork will be emailed to you and the dog’s ownership details will be transferred into your name. If, at any point in the future, you are unable to care for your dog, we ask that Dusty Paws Dog Rescue is given first preference to take the dog back into care and find them another suitable home, subject to care availability. You acknowledge that you are enquiring about a dog whose genetics are unknown. The listed breed is an educated guess made by the rescue team and/or vets. A DNA test is the only way to gain a more accurate understanding of the dog’s breed mix, and this would be at your own cost as the new owner. You understand that a dog’s behaviour while in foster care may differ once they are adopted and placed into a new environment. You agree to give the dog the time they need to decompress and settle, and to follow any advice provided by Dusty Paws Dog Rescue on how best to support them during this transition.
